works in progress? – color study painting

December 2, 2010 by StephanieCorfee

JodiPtg2i’ve been working on so many custom pieces, there’s been no time left to create any new prints for my shop! But at least i can share some progress reports with you all.

This piece is on gallery wrapped canvas sized 30×40. My sister-in-law commissioned it. She had very specific colors in mind and getting them right was my main concern. i got this far and planned to next add some thick texture in certain areas with my palette knife and some thick, bold paint….but something stopped me. i showed my SIL some snapshots of the work thus far on thanksgiving, and she thinks it’s done! i guess art is subjective.

i still plan to show the painting in person saturday morning so we can be sure she wants me to call it quits….but i have my reservations! haha

So i guess i need to realize its not about me! The customer is always right. i’ll sign it on the spot and leave it behind saturday if that’s the verdict. i’ll be too tempted to add just a wee bit more if i bring it back home.
