Artists, what the heck would you do if you broke your hand(s)? or a finger? or got arthritis? i think about stuff like that sometimes when i’m painting or sketching or graphic-designing. Like, do i need to call Lloyd’s of London and insure my hands? They’re my whole livelihood. What would i insure them for? haha. i can see it now, my hands getting rejected bc they don’t appraise at enough value! : )
But seriously, i HAVE been having blood vessels spontaneously burst in my hands lately. It REALLY hurts! i can be doing nothing and then this stinging sensation comes on, and you can see the a bruise form. It happens on the inside knuckle of my thumbs. Online, it says i might be lacking vitamin C or maybe need to be on an aspirin regimen. i read the warning signs of stroke to nick in the car tonight from my iPad. i made him memorize the F.A.S.T. indicators. i know, i’m paranoid. i own it!
Soooooo…i’ll be calling the doc first thing in the morning! BUT! in the meantime, i wanted to get my pesky hands moving in a new way tonight and so i painted a little on paper. Oddly, i never paint on paper aside from watercolors? But now i’m in love with something new. It was liberating to be painting on a cheaper surface than stretched canvas. One little painting (below) and now i’m addicted.
i named this one “Penny Lane.” It was the first name that came to me. i figure that’s the truest way for me to name them….intuitively? How do you guys name YOUR artwork? These sorts of questions posed to other artists really fascinate me. S0, do tell! “Penny Lane” is 11×14 and will be available in my etsy shop tomorrow when i can take proper (non-cell-phone-in-a-dimly-lit-office) photos tomorrow. : )
Also, here is one more illustration in my series of inspiring girls art. These are fun too….in a totally different way.
And that’s all i got for tonight! See ya’ll with fresh new art in a day or 2!
