You asked and i’m delivering. Here is another insight into my design process!

The above artwork is a pastel underpainting i composed for use as the “peek-a-boo” splash of color under a cut paper project i’ve been working on. i really wanted it to be highly saturated and full of scribbly texture which will play against a very pale grey paper with crisp, black line drawing that i’ll be using for the paper cuts.

i’m really excited about assembling the piece and hoping it matches the vision in my mind’s eye. My goal is to post teasers like these on a regular basis, sorta like artwork cliffhangers, and then post the finished artworks a few days later as a fun surprise.
