i’m committing to sketchiness – are you?

i’ve had the Sketchbook Project website setting up camp in my browser’s tabs bar for the past 2 weeks. It sounded like a super cool project, but i just couldn’t commit. The idea of filling an entire little book with as much amazingness as i could muster had me pretty wigged out. But this morning i clicked through to the site and just poured over all the information available. i looked at samples from last year and even watched a CNN news clip describing a past sketchbook tour. But what really reeled me in was the casual and loose vibe of the project’s creators, facilitators, and i’m guessing, roadies? (Steven & Shane/The Art House Co-op team) who’ll be taking this big ol’ collection on it’s tour next year. The rules read less like a rigid college syllabus and more like a friendly letter.

They don’t want you to feel restricted!!!

Well, ok then, i shall stop feeling that way!

i scanned quickly through the themes in the menu and stopped when i saw “happy thoughts.” i CAN DO THAT!! Don’t ya’ll think i can do that? So i signed myself up.

i should get my moleskine sketchbook in a couple weeks and i’m-a-thinkin thhat some of my regular posts are gonna become sneak peeks into the creation of my book? You guys wanna see? Hey, maybe i’ll even ask for some helpful suggestions from time to time….and if any of you want to participate, it’s just $25 to get your own sketchbook and you can sign up here.
