i have not told any of you about the project. It is my secret.

When i get a few hours to myself, or a few minutes, i shut out the world and try to succumb to my imagination, and my childhood fantasies. Those memories are the only ingredients that can make my project work. The kind of images i need to translate onto paper are the same ones that would fill my head while i was reading a fairytale, or dreaming a dream, or describing heaven. i conjured up rooms made of candy, worlds where we everybody flies on delicate wings from place to place, or comfy spots for snuggling that were as soft as as homemade marshmallows and as deep as a hundred feather pillows.

But i wonder…

What kind of places filled other children’s daydreams? Mine can’t be the only ones.

If you want to help with this project (the one i’ve never told you a darned thing about), you could share your own “secret gardens” with me, and i can nestle them down into some paper with my watercolors and pencil as well. They can keep mine company.

When i am done, i promise to share.

Here is a new piece i’ve been playing with. I’ve had a lot of interest doing drawings by hand and then coloring, texturizing and embellishing them in photoshop. This one is my idea of of how my imagination-land looks in my noggin….full, saturated color and crazy pattern. It’s like my imagination is exploding all around me and i just skip my way through it plucking this bit of inspiration here and that bit of color there. Prints available in my etsy shop. Cheers!
