i’ve finally finished up these pencil portraits of 3 adorable sisters which will be given as holiday gifts to their grandparents. Well, PRINTS of these will be going to grandparents. Mom and dad are keeping the originals! : )

At any rate, it put me in mind of the date. Can you believe it’s almost November already?!

With that in mind, i wanted to throw out a reminder that any custom orders to be fulfilled in time for Christmas will have to be placed before November 5. Last year, i took orders even into december and it just killed my ability to enjoy the holiday season. This year i’m wising up! i will still be most happy to take custom orders after November 5, i just won’t be guaranteeing their completion by December 23.

Also, the etsy shop now has my holiday cards available and i hope to be spreading lots of joy through art this season!

Mine are tiny little glitter-trapped-in-resin dangles on gold ear wire. But i also love these little discs; such a great way to combine gold and silver for a not too matchy-matchy look with my other jewelry.

Shop owner, Sara is sweet as pie and changed out my ear wires to gold for me upon request. i received the earrings a day or 2 later (we are both in the Philly area) and the packaging was as precious as the earrings.

Last thing, the name? tiny galaxies. What could be a more perfect way to describe these sparkling teeny treasures. Check out the shop!!

If you know me, you know i don’t wear short-shorts, or medium-shorts.  Lord,  i only wear bermuda shorts if the temp is above ninety! But in summer, nothing beats a long day outside followed up by a cool shower, some nice smelling lotion, a tank top and comfy lounge shorts to jump into.  Add crisp, freshly laundered sheets, a good book and an open window welcoming the sound of crickets and i’m pretty much in heaven.

The “Beckoning Creatures” lounge shorts by PlumPrettySugar on etsy totally fit the bill and are so me! They make me wish summer would hurry up and get here already!

Here is the cutest little story about the sweetest Etsy seller across the world in Turkey who sent me this beautiful package and made my day.

Way back around Valentine’s Day i found this amazing little beaded cuff bracelet on Etsy. It was made by a seller called Irregular Expressions. The shop is a wonder. It is filled with gorgeous and “irregular”, unique accessories. You should visit the shop, like NOW. Anyway, my husband told me to order the bracelet as my Valentines gift since i loved it so much. It took about 2 seconds for me to click thru on Paypal. DONE!

Then the agony of waiting began. The package arrived stateside, in New York, on 2/20. BUT, the bracelet apparently liked the sights and sounds of the customs hold in NYC, so it decided to stay there indefinitely. i talked with the USPS, i convo’d IE. Poor Aysegul (the darling woman behind the awesome etsy shop) felt so bad. She refunded my money! i assured her i was not going to let a little red tape get me down, and not to worry. And lo and behold, just 2 days later, my mailman comes trotting up my drive with a precious, crackly envelope just for me. It was scrumptious on the outide with it’s perfect texture and lovely postage and stamps….but the contents blew my mind.

This is what was inside:

…an embroidered, waxed paper envelope with handmade toggle closure!? wow! and, um…..do you SEE the amazing earrings? They were just a special treat from Aysegul (probably because we got so friendly in the convos leading up to my order- i have crazy tiny wrists and they customized my purchase….i’m a pain) …then the glorious bracelet which fit perfectly! i have a permanent smile on my face today.

Total happy ending. First thing i did was write a convo to Aysegul and re-pay my bill. All’s well in etsy-land. Can’t wait to choose my next precious from this phenomenal shop!
