Ink + Paper + X-acto Bloom

Cut PAper Bloom

Here are some photos of the finished artwork i’ve been posting about. BLOOM measures about 6″ in diameter. It is just precious in it’s teeny-ness! The underlay is a large, saturated, pastel painting that has been photographed and then printed in miniature on my Epson R2880. This printer uses a Vivid Magenta ink and i LOVE it! The capability to reproduce that crazy saturated fuschia is the whole reason i got this Epson! I sure do love me some pink!

i think i will place this piece in a tiny, desktop frame. Maybe i’ll paint the frame? The only question is whether or not to put it under glass. hmmmmm…..i rather like the idea of being able to touch the petals. Makes me happy thinking about it. Glass might kill my mood. What do you all think?

Ooh! This is fantastic! I love papercuts – and this double layer with the luscious colors peeking out from underneath – to die/dye for! ;-)

Stephanie, wow! The detail is amazing! Practical me wonders how you will dust it if you don’t put it under glass? Not to say you have any dust in your home!!! :-)

There are very few blogs where I’d like to have a standing, “Holy Cow, that is stunning!” comment on every post – yours is on that short list. The watercolor print behind it makes all the difference – adds interest, movement, depth, charm…yum!

This is awesome, Stephanie! I think I’d go glassless, myself. :)

Wow! That is fabulous! glass or no glass- either way it’s spectacular.

This is so beautiful! I think it belongs behind glass though, just from a practical standpoint; it’s going to get dusty over time without protection, then just imagine dusting off all those little petals and voila! Logic! :D
